ABOUT US

print, through, record, company, lo-fi, netlabelPrint-Through Records was established by two guys who created their own music thru the late 70's and early 80's, using analogue equipment, ie: two cassette decks, an eight channel mixer and various outboard equipment (in fact, all the gear was marketed for budget-minded consumers and musicians). Over the years they discovered and collected hundreds of lo-fi self-made recordings and demos by many other similar artists, and finally came to the conclusion it was high time the world should partake in enjoying exactly those types of tracks, too.

Together, they recorded their duo material under the name of 'Delta'. Along the way, with Rik Berryere and Pete Jardine, they also co-founded 'The Brothers Bruce', an un-incorporated, non-company, entirely non official, Monty Python inspired music-comedy troupe. Eventually, the Jensen/Leeson 'studio' (dubbed 'Track One') gained a four-track open reel recorder and other mid-fi toys. Hundreds of their own masters were produced and were stuffed away for a lot of years.

print, through, record, company, lo-fi, netlabelVocationally, Jef and Al went their separate ways for 25 years or so, always remaining close pals, with music being their primary basis for friendship, and Life In General coming a close second (early adulthood can do some awful things to people). By July 29th, 2012, combining their collective knowledge and experience of music and the industry, they created THE record label to help musicians who've wanted a chance to release their own self-made, lo-fi music.

print, through, record, company, lo-fi, netlabelIn this digital era, analogue recordings have increased in demand by those who crave the 'old school' sound. Much like our fathers lectured us on the advantages of Tube over Transistor, Print-Through Records recognizes that, regardless of it's final format, analogue recordings offer a warmer, truer sound over the harshness of digital recordings. And the history of technology brings us full circle - this digital era has created a method for delivering old-school recordings that otherwise may never have seen the light of day.

print, through, record, company, lo-fi, netlabelPrint-Through Records is dedicated to helping artists who have a similar history to Al and Jef, with their recordings sitting in boxes in their various basements, attics or in their truck beds rescued from their last divorce, waiting to be heard. So, if you are one of those artists, WE MIGHT WANT TO HEAR THOSE TAPES!
