Print-Through Records - bringing you lo-fi analog in the digital realm.
The best tracks you've never heard are sitting in someone's basement or closet. And they need to be heard. Our label specializes in doing just that - getting much deserved attention to self-made lo-fi analogue recordings, artist demos, live tapes... whatever... by making them available for your downloading and listening pleasure. Obscure is the word, no genres-barred. This stuff is not for the weak ear-ed.
• 3 more releases for the lo-fi lovers:
- North Carolina's 'Nun the Wiser' and 'Spanking Kate' become PTRs first USA artists;
- And Tuck Shoppe's sophomore album 'Zed Lapland' sees the light of day;
• The Brothers Bruce get their first airplay, and we hope it wasn't their last! The community radio station CJAI in Stella, ON played the Bruce's "Another Pimple" - over 30 years after it was recorded. For more info and to listen to Pete talk about the band, see the Bruces label page here.
• Print-Through Records is officially launched with the début of 4 releases:
- Tuck Shoppe's long overdue first album 'Kooky Cookie Cutter';
- A 25th anniversary edition of the eponymous 1988 demo cassette from Kevin Guitar Band;
- Pop-folk duo Delta's early 1980s demos 'Head Stock';
- And The Brothers Bruce's comedic pseudo-best-of 'No Lines Left Uncrossed' (...more early 1980s tracks).
• Also, with our first sampler, 'Blatantly 1⅞ IPS: Vol. 1', and three more albums lined up for release in the new year, the future sounds great.
• For those recordists who may be interested: we may want to hear your lo-fi tracks. Visit our submissions page for more details.
